Windgarden

For several years we have taken part in the festival mainly in the windgarden which became “inevitable”. We receive in our parcels a crowd always such curious. As there are no barriers between the gardeners and the public, the communications were rich.

During the accompanying visits with windgardeners , the mistresses and teachers can set out again with ideas original and simple to realize by the children. We often hear the traditional “How it works”, “It is made with what”. And when I questioned the children on the materials which were used for manufacture of Plastica, much recognized… the wine barrel !

We had made a labyrinth with our stoppers reeds. Great spectacle! Jean-Jacques had installed his PEFAME (small factory of wind music), his neighbour Jean-Claude with a garden of plastic flowers beside the pomponettes of Patrick and Annick.

The two week-ends, atmosphere were rather family, and during the week we had very many children. And from 9h00, whereas our plantations just come up, the bus poured hordes of small children in great form and decided  to spend a good day. There was also a great number of handicapped people. Some of them showed us that they could dance Haka! Nick James presented a “Wishcatcher”  which could evolve more than nine days. There was more than 400 wishes the first WE. Blue papers for the wishes were quickly used and people took their own papers: page of book, lottery tickets, metro ticket, visiting card.

In the innovations, there are Didier’s stamens, our Pyramids and the mini windgarden of Roberto, with small mobiles which function with the wind.

For the first time this year we had a marquee and hope well that this reproduces in the future. Thanks a lot !
We made it profitable: Ulli, well protected from the wind, became great conducteur of “musical drawings” with his magic plate. And each new drawing, formed by the vibrations of the archer, the children applauded. Patrick and Bruno made sound demonstrations of arcs, pigeons flutes …

The gardens were in the theme of Dieppe and of the environmental protection. We had contacted PTL company (Plastic and Weavings of Luneray) near to Dieppe (Ouville-the-River) which uses the potato flour to manufacture biodegradable bags plastic. It forwarded to us of the rollers of bags. Patrick and François used it to manufacture wind sock and banners. They also interested the teachers and proposed to take a piece of it and to bury it of it beside a piece of plastic to study with the children the difference in degradation and to sensitize them with the environment. Won bet, they were enchanted to be able to prolong the gardens until in the classes.

For the night flight, we had a beautiful lighting, which added the mysterious in our creations. And the public? Always present, to saunter between the mills of Joel and those of Marc (who returned from Belgium only to be here!!) Fernando had made a lighting personalized for his cacti. As for the stoppers of Roberto, I believe that I prefer them of night.
